Logo design

Logos are created by first of all creating concepts. Many of these concepts will be ruled out in the first draught. The picked ideas will got to the next stage of concepts based around variations of form and colour of the original design. One will be chosen and variations of this will be created before the final design is chosen. Logos are mainly generated as vector files. More about vector files below.

Why do designs as vector and not pixels?

Logos and technical images often require vector based images.

A vector graphic is artwork made up of points, lines, and curves that are based upon mathematical equations, rather than pixels. A vector is great for logos as it can be blown up to any size without becoming pixelated or fuzzy because it does not contain any pixels. If a design needs to be etched or screen printed it will be necessary to have it produced as mathematical lines so that a computer can fire a laser or control a embroidery machine to create a logo on a baseball cap as an example.

The generation of vector images require a separate skill set from pixel based programs like Photoshop or Affinity Photo.

K2 installation services

Logo and business card for K2. Shush worked on the branding branding of this installation company.

The card had a rubber feel and the black area shown in image two was the spot UV.

A spot UV is a varnish so that this area had a shiny surface in just that area.
